One of my fave songstresses Sade held a listening session in NYC this week for her upcoming album Soldier of Love. Haven’t seen her in a while but she still looks good. It’s her first studio album in 10 years. And it drops February 8, 2010. YESSSS.

Congrats for Kanye–something for him to not b*tch about. His College Dropout album was just named Album of the Decade by Entertainment Weekly. And I can live with that. Still one of my fave albums of all time.
Erykah Badu will release her fifth studio album, New Amerykah, Part II: Return of the Ankh, on February 23, 2010. So her release date is set and I, for one, can’t wait. Her boyfriend Jay Electronica was there to support of course.
And so were Sylvia Rhone, Dame Dash and Corrine Bailey Rae. Good to see Corrine out and about again. About this album, Ms. Badu says:
“With Part I, I was standing at an apex, looking at what was going on around me politically, socially, and economically,” Badu explained. “With Part II, I’m hovering over me, looking at what’s going on inside of me.”

In today’s music business where artist release albums, mix-tapes and iTune teasers on the regular with no gap between projects it is so refreshing to see a artist who has been in the game for twenty years and takes her time between albums. Every time Sade returns she never disappoints and I’m sure this album is worth the wait.

3 talented artists in one post I love it.
The College Dropout still bumps on the ipod heavy, I think it was his best work cuz the thirst for him to make it was present. Not saying his other albums suck but this one is def my favorite.

The reason why Sade hasn’t cracked is cuz she got them pure African genes in her..I for one will be purchasing her album. She never disappoints and I love that Soldier for Love song.

Most of her fans appreciate good music (with political and cultural undertones ) and not beind subjected to 5 pounds of makeup and half naked ass shaking. She is an exceptional artist and performer and doesn’t need to change a thing for her real fans (RBGirls). And plus, she’s gorgeous and always brings her in her own style to her shoes. BTW, I’m still knocking part I, soldier is my get up and go song and can’t wait for part II.

You know you’re bad when you can be off the scene 10yrs or even like Badu recording whenever you have something to actually say and ppl are waiting for and supporting your craft. Sade is always platinum plus because they only appear when they have something to say. All these artist want to be “legends” but they not singing about nothing. Instead of taking time away from the spotlight to experience life and growth through its experiences they over saturated the radios with foolwang lyrics, no substance. No shade to anybody but I’m looking for quality not quantity you can come back to back with albums but what good is that if you’re not saying anything.
