Im sorry but I own Rihanna’s CD and I must say it is a solid album, however it definitely isnt album of the year. Mariah Carey, Chrisette Michele, Trey Songz, Keri Hilson and Alicia Key’s Etc. all had excellent material released this year. Entertainment Weekly definitely got it wrong on this one. In fact I cant say who had the best album simply because there was alot of great music put out in 2009.

Don’t yall see what the media is doing? Rihanna her album is not the hottest of 2009 and they know that, the thing is that Rihanna’s album is not selling good AT ALL. Her album is #28 on the charts and it’s not going up. GaGa’s album (The Fame Monster) who came out on the same day as Rih is #2 on the charts right behind Alicia’s The Element of Freedom who is #1. Even GaGa’s the Fame is #6 on the charts, mind you that this album is 60 weeks old…
They r hyping her up and these r the same ppl who have bashed Chris Brown for months and said his career is over. But now they look stupid cause Rih ain’t doing that well either and what they’re trying to do is get her back on track with the other chicas. Same as this site, who named Rihanna #3 women of the year…while they named Beyonce #4 and Britney #6. That’s weird right? cause Beyonce, Lady GaGa and Britney had one of the best years of 2009. I used to read that magazine a lot, but then I noticed they would kiss up to certain celebs in the magazine and give their albums an A rating, when some of them didn’t deserve it while lesser known celebs would get B and C ratings even though some of their albums were off the chain. They also had the nerve to give the movie Mall Cop an A rating when that movie was garbage. So folks who see through this BS don’t get too worked up about Entertainment Weekly naming Rated R the best pop album, they have proven many times that they will give stellar reviews to anyone no matter how much it sucks. This goes for Rolling Stone too, I’ve noticed the same change with them. It’s the power of payola. Such a shame. I guess some magazines are getting desperate to keep their publications alive since blogs are becoming more of a replacement for magazines.

Okay, people it says POP album of the year. Rihanna is a shoe-in. The Fame Monster was great and all but it was your typical Gaga CD. Rihanna has developed an new image and sound for herself and quite honestly its working (we dont know for how long though). He vocals have improved tremendously and the songs are all billboard ready (timing is key for releasing singles). At the end of the day, she took a risk and won. Congratulations.

I listened to Rhi’s album. It was okay. Should not have been Best Pop Album in 2009. Lady Gaga should’ve gotten it, cuz she killed this year! Rhi needs to stop the damn pity party because of what happened in February. No one REALLY knows the real story but I think Rhi deserved to get her ass whipped if she did hit Chris. now Rated R could have been 1 of the best pop album..but she released it at the wrong time..since she went on 20/20 to get pity sells with the “I’m a victim act”, people were ready for a gggb type of album..then she did a total 180 on us, and released an album bout suicides, guns, and how hard she is..now keep in mind that shes suppose to be a victim..she told us she was a victim, and wanted to be a role model..now the majority of her fans are under 18..now what king of parents going to buy their kids an album bout guns and suicides?

I am a Maxwell fan myself…. but I honestly only liked 5 songs out of what like 9 or 10 songs! He is not worthy of that! I do agree that Keri Hilson album was great as well… I so forgot about that! I played the mess out of that too. I have been listening to Rihanna album just about everyday… (I am a huge music enthusiast). IFor the first month, I had a new favorite Rihanna song evry week until I fell in love with every single song, except Te Amo (b/c I was on it when it leaked months ago). I even started liking the songs that came out (I hated them @ 1st)

Rater R was a great album. FROM BEGINNING TO END. Honestly i didn’t expect Rihanna to put out a good album. this is the first album of hers that is worth buying. PEOPLE DO NOT LIKE HER AS A PERSON. THEY CANNOT SEPERATE THE ALBUM FROM THE PERSON. JUDGE THE ALBUM BY ITSELF. IT IS SUPERB. i don’t know if it is the best because i havent heard all others but i will say with confidence it is one of the best. it’s an amazing album and I DOUBT RIHANNA WROTE THOSE SONGS OR CONTRIBUTED HEAVILY TO THE PRODUCTION. she must have have worked with extremely talented people. TRUTH BE TOLD WHEN I HEARD THAT ALBUM I WAS IN SHOCK. best album she ever came out with. BETTER ALBUM THAN BEYONCE HAS EVER COME OUT WITH. I’M SORRY IT’S JUST HOW I FEEL. Best POP album goes to Lady GaGa hands down. She can sing, she learned to play the piano by ear and has been performing like a maniac (that’s a compliment) before she was famous. Her style and attitutde is her personality personified. She writes her own music, DJs, and has crazy concepts for outfits, dances (not necessarily great dance routines but great dance routine CONCEPTS that work for her songs), and videos. She is on Barbara Walter’s 10 Most Fascinating People of 2009 list. You either love it or hate it and that IS okay. People should be allowed to like and dislike as they please. It’s called FREE WILL. And Rihanna’s Rated R album is the Best Rihanna album of all Rihanna albums (maybe) but to comapre her to the real talents is beyond a stretch it’s straight up ANAL TEARING TORTURE in my Opinion so if you think I’m hatin then FUCK YOU. Her live performances (speak for themselves *blank stare*) she was booed off stage in Trinidad for God’s sake because she didn’t have the energy or stage presence they expected.
