It’s been confirmed that Janet Jackson will be performing an 8 minute medley to open the 2009 American Music Awards.  They air Sunday, Nov. 22nd.

Singer T-Boz has just gotten over the swine flu.  She’s been going through several medical issues as of late between Sickle Cell and a brain tumor.  And recently, she and her daughter Chase both contracted the flu.  But only T-Boz got the H1N1 strain.  She says it knocked her down completely, but now she’s better:

“My daughter and I had sore throats that lasted about three days, so we went to see an ear, nose and throat specialist,” Watkins explained to reporters.

She continued: “After examining us, he told me my daughter had the flu - and I had swine flu… I made arrangements right away for my daughter to stay with my mom… I had to stay in the house and away from everyone.”

“It hit me really hard,” said T-Boz. “…I had a bad cough, and my ear was infected too. I got up to go to the bathroom and became winded.”

Glad she’s better.

Rihanna was the belle of the ball last night as GLAMOUR magazine honored their 2009 Women of the Year.  Not gonna lie, this dress is stunning and made my heart skip a beat.  In a fab event in NYC, YBF chicks were out in full force receiving their awards:

Iman was there as well looking pretty in pink and presented Rih with her award.

Rih got a bit teary eyed while accepting her honor.

Alicia Keys looked great in green at last night’s LATIN Grammys in Vegas:

She kicked it backstage with Eva Longoria and Alejandro Sanz after their performance as well.  By the way, Alicia will have a sequel to “Empire State of Mind” w/ Jay-Z on her upcoming album.

And over in NYC, the cast of Precious had an umpteenth screening for the movie.  The movie opens today in 18 theaters.  This one was hosted by Tommy Hilfiger at the Crosby Street Hotel:

I see Paula’s bringin’ out the girls.  A baby does a body good.  She kicked it with director Lee Daniels and writer Sapphire.

And Colin Powell and Gabby S. were spotted at the afterparty.

YBF hit the 2009 Soul Train Music Awards red carpet and show last night in Atlanta.  It was an overall feel of positivity and musical fabness.  And we’ve got 100+ exclusive pics of YBF celebs making their arrivals.  The hosts Taraji P. Henson (rocking the hot new Jimmy Choo bootie/sandals) and Terrence Howard made nice on the carpet.

Letoya Luckett looked fabulous in her silver Herve Leger dress.

Keisha Knight-Pulliam pulled off a chic and sophisticated all black look.  Nice.

The ATL Housewives made an appearance of course:

The Holy Trinity of real R&B singers hit the carpet.  Kelly Price, Tamia, and Deborah Cox are all touring together right now and looked fabulous on the carpet.

TheYBF.com was on the scene at last night’s Soul Train Music Awards in Atlanta. And we caught up with Miss Keri Baby–who was looking fabulous in Dolce & Gabbana–about her upcoming album. She says she’s super excited about it. Even though she can’t just yet put a finger on what the big difference is between it & her debut album In A Perfect World. We’ll be waiting Keri…

By the way, the Soul Train Awards first timer Keri performed a medley of her songs for the show. And let’s just say it was sexilicious…

We also caught up with rapper Solé to find out if she’s ready to get back in the biz after all those rumors were flying about her hubby Ginuwine cheating.  She tells us:

“I’m not even thinking about music right now. I just love being a Mommy. I’ve actually just been focusing on my business. I have a program that works with mentally challenged adults, an etiquette school & a beauty salon.”

Interesting.

Self proclaimed YBF stan Derek J chatted us up on the red carpet. And despite being Foolywang of the Week a few times, he loves repping for the “boys in heels”:

“My salon was responsible for most of the looks tonight–from the talent to the dancers. I gotta do it up ten times as much as sistahs since I’m a “boy in heels.” I gotta go that extra mile to stay Fabulous.”
