This chick can’t be serious. I have never said a thing on YBF related to the interracial aspect of Julie Henderson’s and Russell Simmons‘ relationship (we’ve only pointed out their significant age difference that STILL didn’t surprise me). But since she went there, her rant must be addressed. Check out what lil Miss Julie posted on her man’s site today:
I have been spending “special time” with Russell for about 4 months and in that time I have learned some subtle things about some in the black community that have surprised me. I must say that while it has been a bit of a challenge for me, it has also been a wonderful learning experience. I realize that in this day of Obama and change that there is still a tremendous amount of poverty, suffering and pain in the black community, and for that I am deeply sorry. But, I have to say the angry responses to those realities are sometimes misdirected….Just for the record, I am nobody’s white b*tch, gold digger or fame chaser. Nor am I any of the other mean things I have been called lately. I don’t need anything from anybody, I come from a good family and I’m a young independent “successful” model making my way in NYC. (If you don’t believe me google me or go to juliehenderson.net).
Finally, I just wanna say that Russell has been a great “special” friend and I’m sure as sh*t not giving him up cause some in America object to our friendship. I wanna close by saying, what Russell always says, Namaste. (That means the goddess in me recognizes the goddess in you)….Or, b*tch get your own man.

This entire rant was all on some ignorant ish and now I’m annoyed. First of all, Julie, how did your blog title “B*tch Get Your Own Man” relate to the purpose you are attempting and failing to convey? Are you mad at the names a few people in the black–and white for that matter–communities are calling you because of your interracial relationship? Or are you mad because somebody is trying to take your man? Last I checked home wreckers come in ALL colors. And most of the gossip sites putting you on blast are not even run by black people. Do your research.
Your ignorance is obviously apparent, Julie, if you are just now learning about the perils in the black community since you’ve been dating Russell Simmons for the past 4 months. I can’t even begin to say how wack and ignorant that statement is. Not to mention that anything you “learned” about the “perils of the black community” while hanging out with Russ in the Hamptons, at million dollar charity events, during luxury trips overseas, in his private jet, or at his mansions…is not even scratching the surface of the black communities’ “perils”. So how about we only speak on what we know when it comes to such serious social issues as that. You know damn well you wouldn’t have come within 50 feet of a Hip Hop Awards show or a charity event for black disadvantaged kids had you not been Russell’s chick.
Keep your apologies ma, nobody asked for them. And honestly, it was condescending and arrogant as there was no reason for it.
I suggest you go back to smiling for the camera and spending your “special time” with Russ. Did he assign that title to your “relationship” or did you? I’m sure I already know the answer. But if “special” friend makes you feel special…then to each her own.
And bottom line, hardly anyone knew your name before you started dating Russell. So stop with the holier than thou act. It’s not becoming and is just really wack. If you feel salty about Russey’s ex Katie putting you on blast the other day, handle that ish with her. The sweeping generalizations about the black community were ignorant and completely unnecessary.
