Curtis has been taking some sly shots at Jay-Z as of late, esp. by jumping into the Beans vs. Jay-Z drama on Beans’ side. And recently Curtis talked to Billboard magazine about his “Baby By Me” video. And sounds like he’s still trying to come at Jay in a roundabout way–through his wife Beyonce. Here’s what 50 said about making Kelly Rowland his leading lady in his vid:

“I ran into Kelly at the Latin VMAs, which I attended to perform with Wisin and Yandel, and I asked her if she would consider doing it,” 50 explains. “You can’t forget all the work she did with Destiny’s Child. The difference between Kelly and Beyonce is the extreme focus they put on Beyonce to make sure she was completely right. Kelly wasn’t held in the same regard, so, in order for her to mean anything to America, they’d have to match the marketing dollars spent on Beyonce. She never received the superstar treatment.”

While 50 is known to be messier than most chicks I know, he’s not exactly lying about this here. Y’all know we heart B to pieces around these parts, so no shade intended. But it is what it is.

And while we’re on the subject of the 50 and Beans vs. Jay-Z hoopla, check out what Beanie and Jay’s former BFF Dame Dash has to say about their “situation.”

DIVA BEEF.  Rih Rih and MiMi are supposedly at odds over Rihanna not speaking to Mariah at Mariah’s own Halloween party at M2 Ultra Lounge. There were about 1000 people at MiMi the Angel’s party so she didn’t necessarily know every single person who was there.  However, Rih knew who’s party she was going to and never made her way over to speak out of respect.  She stayed in her booth with Ne-Yo and others. Here’s what a source at the party reported:

“It was Mariah’s party, but Rihanna didn’t want to be seen with her. And Mariah was not going over to greet Rihanna. Mariah needed six guards to clear a path to the bathroom so her wings wouldn’t be dislodged.”

Mariah’s people say:

“There were 1,000 people there and, of course, she needed security. She heard a rumor that Rihanna was there but she never saw her. She loves Rihanna and of course would have said hello.”

Jay-Z was doing BP3 press in Montreal yesterday. And when asked how he felt about Beanie Sigel’s “diss track” and interview where he says Jay left him high and dry and Def Jam, Hov had some words himself. Check out the vid where Jay explains that some people need to look at themselves. And he can only do so much for a person…

50 Cent stopped in Baton Rouge to promote his Before I Self Destruct album with Max 94.1’s J Tweezy and The Wake Up Syndicate this morning (also another home to Big Boy’s Neighborhood). And, as usual when promoting his new albums, 50 went in on his fave victims:

When asked about different rap artists, 50 stated that if it wasn’t for the love from Baby and him constantly promoting/co-signing on Lil Wayne, then Lil Wayne wouldn’t be who he is now.

When the discussion turned to former G-Unit’s First Lady Olivia, 50 stated that when she was on the label she tried to be a Diva. And that’s why she’s had some “financial issues” since. Womp.

Curtis then put Young Buck on backhanded blast when listeners asked about Buck being an outsider. 50 said he wasn’t. And to prove it, he said that he paid Buck’s taxes for him not once, but twice!

And of course, he couldn’t leave without a jab at Ricky Ross. Curtis divulged that Rick’s son William has a hearing problem, and that everyone should ask Rick why he isn’t helping his son out. He said it’s wrong that Rick’s son doesn’t have any health insurance to take care of his medical situation. I see the wreckless talk from Curtis is only getting worse…

1. Congrats to Birmingham, AL on getting their first black female mayor. Carole Smitherman took the office after her predecessor was convicted of criminal charges. And if you know anything about B-ham, you know this move is HUGE. Story

Jay-Z even supposedly called the cops on Beans when he showed up at on of Hov’s BP3 tour stops.  This ish might just get ugly….

Tyler Perry was on “60 minutes” last night speaking about his empire, owning everything he does all out, his hard childhood, and his effect on the black community. When he was told of Spike Lee’s comments about his work, with Spike calling Tyler’s characters examples of “coonery” and “buffoonery,” Tyler responded:

“I would love to read that [criticism] to my fan base. All these characters of mine are bait, bait to get people talking about God, love, family, and faith. That pisses me off. It is so insulting.”

Very interesting. And I indeed feel where both men are coming from. Your thoughts oh fabulous ones?

Twitbeef is in full effect tonight.  Well, actress Denyce Lawton says its not a Twitter Beef, it’s real life.  She’s going IN on Melyssa Ford (@MellyFord) and calling her out as a “NAMED urban video ho” who is “hypocritical and looks down on people”.  Apparently Melyssa lied on Denyce (@DenyceLawton) to certain folks in the industry, slept with other chicks’ men, and now all the ho-tasticness has been put on blast:

Who’s man did Melly Ford get it in with?  Womp womp. Tell ‘em why you mad Denyce…
