JET Magazine and Larry King Remember Bernie Mac

Bernie Mac is next week's cover of JET magazine: Known for his candid, yet honest comedy, Bernie Mac’s fellow actors shared their thoughts on a friend, influential comedian and family man who was greatly respected. “Bernie was a brother, a friend and one of the comic masters of our time. Sharing the marquee with him during the phenomenon of the Kings of Comedy tour bonded us like family,” said Cedric the Entertainer. This issue hits stands Monday, August 13th. and also pays tribute to the late Isaac Hayes. Also, here's the video from last night's Larry King Live tribute with the Kings of Comdey and Bernie's tv family:

I said the same thing when it came to Ashton. He rambled alot and really struggled to come with answers. And to me it seemed like Cedric and Steve and DL Hughley had a strong bond with Bernie and Ashton was just kinda there. It didn't seem like they were really comfortable with him being there.

i caught the larry king show, really almost by accident. it was a very nice tribute to our king of comedy. now, i'll date myself, but i saw bernie mac when def comedy jam first started touring in the late '90s, and he was just the MC, and i've never laughed so hard. just watching the change of pace for him, and to hear of his passing was heartbreaking. he was a man's man, made you proud to be black and raised 'right' and he'll be missed.

So Sad! I do think that JET

So Sad! I do think that JET should have did a split cover but it could be because JET is in Chicago..The home of Bernie Mac. I believe I have heard Ashton mention in previous interviews that he talked to Bernie and Ashton is always in Chicago (don't ask me why) so I am sure they talked and I believe there was a write up in the paper oncet that Ashton while in Chicago had dinner with Bernie & his wife. Bernie seemed to be admire across the board so it is wrong for ppl to assume that he was only well-known in the black community..a lot of ppl thought he was a great, funny guy. We need to move beyond thinking that come celebs are just famous in the black community...we're bigger that that, Bernie was bigger then that

He recalled the time he

He recalled the time he decided to go onstage and just be himself. You know, do Offstage Bernie. He bombed. He never made that mistake again. A fan waited for him backstage, eyes filled with tears, to tell Mac that he'd lost his touch. In retelling that story, Mac's own eyes welled. "Comedy comes from pain," he once said, and Mac certainly knew pain: His mom died of breast cancer when he was 16; within a short time frame, his grandmother and two brothers also died. His best friend was killed. Mac probably reached the largest number of U.S. households through his Emmy award-winning show "The Bernie Mac Show,'' a look at the adventures and mishaps of a man trying to raise his sister's three children. The show ran for more than 100 episodes from 2001 to 2006. BERNIE HAD FINALLY FOUND HIS VOICE. "I ain't scared of you

"I ain't scared of you mothafathas!" Loves me some Bernie Mac-- now he is the real deal and always will be! However I have a severe problem with Larry King and other media outlets/personalities focusing on some made up crap about his comedic set at the Obama function in Chicago. Larry King left out the fact that Obama was joking with his comment--he clearly said that after his statement. People make me sick... And JET should've had a double commerative issue to include the mr. hot butter soul Issac Hayes-- I mean they couldve done better than the small print afterthought on the cover.

It was awkward watching

It was awkward watching Ashton answer questions about Bernie Mac & it became even more awkward watching Ashton talk about Demi & Bernie Mac's relationship. I do feel as if they tried to include her because of who she is & not because of her & Bernie's relationship, but that's neither here nor there. I'm just really happy that CNN did a tribute to Bernie Mac, because I wasn't expecting that at all. I would have loved to hear from his family but it may be too soon for that, so that's understandable. Thanks Natasha for posting this! I miss him already. R.I.P. Bernie Mac P.S. I know that if I dont see a Jet cover & a tv tribute for Isaac Hayes, somebody's gonna get some angry letters from me!!
