Here's a different side to the parent hating the new spouse. I got married to my highschool sweetheart after dating for several years. Never liked the mother. She didn't like me but it was kept on the down low. We ended up divorcing after 6 years married. I had my doubts before the marriage. Even though people say you're not marrying the family. YOU ARE. I should have listened to my gut feeling the first time and NOT get married. I didn't look at he whole picture. Maybe she knew something I didn't. What I should have done was take that as a sign. Hopefully some will consider that before they take that final step.

There are different rules when it comes to filing for divorce in different counties. The procedure is slightly different from Dekalb and Fulton for instance. The lawyer probably wanted clarification. And it is not against the law for a clerk to speak to the media about a public document. Yes, it is in bad taste, but not against the law. Also, Usher has multiple homes in multiple states. It is plausible that he is looking for the easiest and most favorable state to file his claim in. I can't say I buy this divorce just yet but the lawyer and clerk are plausible.

I totally agree with you. I am an attorney and assuming you had to file something in a jurisidiction in which you don't normally practice and you had to call the clerk's office, there is absolutely no reason why you would use the client's name to get general filing information. In the end, who knows if they are getting divorced or not, but relying on that little tidbit regarding the clerk is just silly! Hope the kiddies will come out of this ok! CONTAGIOUS: That makes absolutely ZERO sense. I work in a high profile family law firm in LA and i can GUARANTEE you that USHER is being represented by a quality firm who knows what they are doing. Odds are the papers havent been filed yet its rare that the file is sealed. That said, there is no way that an assistant would call a clerk asking how to file papers and they definitely wouldnt say the client’s name. Not to mention that an ATTORNEY would NEVER call!!! I dont know how they do it down in the A but someone is tellin lies in the courthouse.

Hmmm, in regards the mother I have a similar story to t.dubz. My good friends brother was married to a woman her family HATED. I mean hated with a passion, primarly because they didn't think she was good enough. Long story short, he ran out...left the country, got caught up in illegal business and never came back to see his children. She stayed, supported her kids, gave them a good home and kept them connected with the family that, at first, hated her. Now they love her like she was blood. Yes, mothers know best...but they are human, as a result not perfect. My mother would never make any of choose between a relationship with her and our love.

@Gail I have to agree. I doubt she flipped the script over night. And really, it was fine enough for you to marry her...but not fine enough for you to stay and raise a family. My bet, it's all based on his career. And hey, the man is a manwhore....did he forget that?

I hate it when a guys friends or even him, calls his ex-girl "crazy". 9 times out of ten, that woman's behavior has always been consistent with her actions(which every one else can see is clearly crazy from day one)however, the problem is, when the guy meets the girl, he's the only one who thinks her behavior is cute so he puts up with it and even indulges her, but after he's tired of her and dismissed her, now her behavior is labeled as "crazy"...No! her behavior has been consistent from day one, you young man were foolish enough to put up with it.
