DO WE LOVE IT?: Solange Gets An Almost-Baldie

And another interesting haircut has hit the net. Solange Knowles was spotted out and about yesterday running errands and rocking her newly shaved head. She Tweeted that she was going through a 'i wanna cut all my Hair off & have a fade phase'.

She and her son Julez look damn near identical now.  Interestingly, Solo hit up a Dita Von Teese performance in L.A. last night with her girls and reportedly rocked a brunette wig. Guess she's not 100% ready to go full throttle with this new 'do. So...

DO WE LOVE IT?!

ERRRGGGH! This aint a good look on her, i mean she isn't very pretty even with the long hair but now she cut it off...i mean damnn! it don't look right at all, she just aint got the face for it, cos it is a haircut that does not suit everybody...! Whats up with all these celebrities copying each other's style? doesn't anyone have a mind of their own? The Rhianna, and the amber rose, pleaseeee, its tired!

Jolie: THANK YOU SO MUCH

Jolie: THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR SAYING THAT! I’m so sick of people thinking that Amber Rose started this whole trend. You know how long Black women have been rocking their hair like this?? Just like they did with big butts, big lips, big breast & having a beautiful bronzy complexion; whenever something is done by someone else other then a black female, it’s considered beautiful. my butt. Exactly!

It's sad and pathetic that we

It's sad and pathetic that we live in a society where people would rather comment on the appearance of another person as opposed to comment on the recklessness that is happening in our society. Solange cut her hair...WHO GIVES A FUCK. Everyone here that wrote something negative obviously are shallow people and are insecure with their own looks to comment on the looks of another person. How sad and disgraceful. Solange is the spotlight, yes, so this defaming criticism is warranted and it is expected. However, it is heartbreaking to see the mockery, the verbal brutality of such a society. In other countries, (yeah besides the United States...for the UNEDUCATED FOOLS)...Solange's look would be embraced. But NO...not the fucking United States of America where we have ignorant people who would rather dwell on ONE PERSON'S LOOK as opposed to the dreaded behaviors of other fellow Americans' who have control of alot of our social institutions. Hence...we are in a financial crisis...dimwits, that's what we should be worrying about. How can we fix the unemployment rates that are sky-rocketing. How can we repair our credit scores that have been tarnished because we have been influenced by a materialistic culture. Yeah...let's think about that. Let me ask a question, when Solange had long, "luxurious" hair, how did we comment? Was she beautiful then, was she still ugly...DOES IT MATTER. To MY IGNORANT BROTHERS AND SISTERS...WHO HAVE THE USELESS TIME TO COME ON HERE AND MAKE A MOCKERY OF A BEAUTIFUL..PERSON.... DO ME FAOVR........GO FUCK YOURSELF...TWICE.

he he he he: That’s not

he he he he: That’s not what we were trying to say. The comments were aimed at 24/7 weave wearers whose eyes glaze up when you tell them to rock their own hair for once. that’s all! It is a bold act to walk around with natural hair because it still hasn’t been 100% accepted by society yet. How can the hair growing out of your own head not be accepted by society. I work at a law firm and I can’t tell you the looks I got from my own permed and weaved out sistahs when I came in to work with my natural hair. They were the first ones to whisper that my hair was unprofessional, they just didn’t have the balls to go natural. I don’t have a problem with weave, I just don’t understand why some women wear it almost 24/7. That just leads me to believe that they have hair issues. How can you know that you have hair issues if around you feels the same way about their hair. Mostly everyone in my fam rocks a weave, piece, wigs, aand lacefronts. I don’t see the purpose of walking around 12 months out the wear with someone elses hair attached to your head. makes no sense. That arguement works both ways. That would be like me saying, "I don't understand why you walk around with your hair in braids/fro/dreaded/shaved 24/7 12 months out the year." Do you have hair problems? You can't even try anything new? Or you just would rather not? It's the same way for the "unnatural women". I have been doing hair for years- weaves, lacefronts, etc. are not used by women who are ashamed. For some women, it's a way to stimulate hair growth (hello, you have your hair braided up beneath; wash it as usual, and go long periods without putting heat or chemicals on it, thus stimulating hair growth). For some, it's a way of trying new styles. Because they didn't like you hair doesn't mean they don't have the balls to go natural??? WOW! No- it doesn't. It means they didn't like your hair. I had a track of purple in my hair trying to be a daredevil for my birthday, guess how many side eyes I got? Guess how many people look at me crazy because I had hair down to my hips? So what? That doesn't give me the right to assume they didn't like it because they looked at me crazy. They have their own reasons.

You don't have to have hair

You don't have to have hair like a white girl to be pretty. Most black people don't have the confidence to walk around with the hair texture that they were born with. Saying that Solo can not rock her natural hair is stupid. Its her hair!

And people taht suggest otherwise need to get off their high horses and realise it’s just hair it doesn’t determine what we feel about our skin colour or heritage! Paige: Amen sweetie! I am

Paige: Amen sweetie! I am so lost as to why everyone is saying “it takes a strong black woman to rock natural hair” or “we self hate and make it unacceptable for natural hair”, or the other half says “oh she needs to put the weave back in” “this do is not for her”.I DO believe that Solange is going with the crowd… I could be wrong, but to ME the timing insinuates that she is following the trend.Amber Rose did not “start” the trend, per se. Just like Rihanna did not start the bob trend. I think the proper way of saying it would be by saying both of those women- Amber and Rihanna- made their hairstyles popular by bursting onto the scene with swagger and confidence in their whole look. That is what makes other people say “Hey, I wanna try that!”, which is why those styles are becoming popular. How many times have you seen India or Erykah and said “WOW her whole look is amazing, I want to look like that!” Be honest- NOT MANY. They simply arent working it with the same appeal Amber Rose is. The same for Rihanna. There’s nothing wrong in people feeling that Solange made the wrong choice. That’s a matter of opinion. It doesn’t mean they find it unacceptable to go “natural”. I wouldn’t want to go natural unless I knew for certain that I would FEEL as wonderful with a natural style. And I don’t know, and I am not going to take the plunge to find out “just to find out”. But that doesn’t mean I have anything against it. It doesn’t mean that I dont love myself, or my heritage. It doesn’t mean I don’t “know my real hair”, because up until I was 13 I wore my hair natural- braided, kinky curls (i never did the “Fro”). I didn’t relax my hair because of “society”, I relaxed it because I wanted to experiment and see what I could do with my straight hair. And I felt great!! I simply feel more confident and sexy with my relaxed hair, or with a sew in- I feel like I can be more creative. I like to color my hair, but I like my natural hair color as well. When my hair grows out, and its time for a perm, sometimes I like to do hairstyles I can’t do with my bone straight hair. It is not better to be natural, it is not better to be relaxed, to be weaved, to be braided: It’s all about what works for YOU! Man I'm with Paige and Dainedallas! You guys are singing my sort of tune, don't understand why people can't just realise that not everyone with weave etc hates their black heritage-it's about different looks that work for you!!! BIANCA: No woman on this

BIANCA: No woman on this site who has natural hair said that they were more Black than the women who decide to wear weaves. You came to that conclusion on your own so you must think that we are more Black. Just like your proud to have someone elses hair sewn on your head we are proud to rock our hair the way it grows from our scalp. Whats the big deal? Nope there are many comments on this post slating the girls that wear weave so it was very easy to come to that conclusion. Anyway I for one am certain that hairstyles suit certain face shapes and I'm not going to pretend that solange looks great with that blad head, others are just trying to be controversial by agreeing with her which is so petty but each to their own...

FAIL FAIL FAIL!! I'm sorry did I say FAIL? I love solange and I love when women cut their hair into a fade; I thought about doing it many times. She doesn't have the face for this style and people are saying kudos to all the women for going natural like it's a big thing. I've been natural for forever; Thank God. You don't have to cut off all your hair into a fade if being natural was the reason for this. I don't think it was; perhaps she is going through her rebel period but she needs to fix this better! There are many "natural" hair styles that a person can rock! Sorry. It's messy and not even styled. Get some kinky curly, gel or somethin. Love you Solo but Fail!

How can people be so cruel?

How can people be so cruel? Solange is just rocking what the good Lord has given her, and doing it quite well! Why should she be ashamed of her glory based on someone else's opinion? It takes a lot of courage to go against the grain. I applaud her courage and pray she will look past all of the armchair critics. Truth be told...there are many balding, blistered, burning and broke sisters who would do the same thing, if they had half a back bone. We need to stop allowing the media to define beauty and to see ourselves through the eyes of our Creator.

DanieDallas: As a lover of

DanieDallas: As a lover of hair, I find it very sad that you either have to be pro weave/permed hair or pro natural hair. Some people on here have made comments like “People that wear weave or perm their hair don’t have confidence or aren’t proud of their natural hair and heritage.” That’s a crock. One of the things that I love about being black is that I can change my hair into whatever I want. Plenty of times I have rocked a perm and weave (like now) and then turned around and rocked my permed hair cut in a shoulder length bob and then turned around and went off perms altogether and rocked my curly fro. Why does it have to be either or? The whole idea of saying if you wear perms/weave that you’re not proud of being black or are ashamed of your natural hair is ridiculous. Can’t it just mean that you like to change it up? Or that that’s the style you like? If you’re natural be natural and love it! If you’re permed/weaved be that and love it and if you’re like me be whatever you decided to rock that month and love it! Amen sweetie! I am so lost as to why everyone is saying "it takes a strong black woman to rock natural hair" or "we self hate and make it unacceptable for natural hair", or the other half says "oh she needs to put the weave back in" "this do is not for her". Hunny, I don't know what race you are but if you are a Black woman, I advise that underneath that relaxer that you slap onto your hair every six to ten weeks or under that weave or whatever you may or may not wear, you must realise that the hair growing underneath has a semblance to what you just refered to as "nappy as hell".
