Lauryn Hill is back at it. She appeared on the main stage at the 2010 Harmony Festival in Santa Rosa, CA last Sunday and gave the crowd performances of 3 of their L Boogie faves: "Doo Wop (That Thing)", "Turn Your Lights Down Low", and "Ooh La La La".

And now that she has been confirmed to perform on the 2010 Rock The Bells tour, this is a little appetizer of what we can expect. Videos of Lauryn rocking out when you read on...

To all these people acting like they got her figured out based off of her appearance, do us all a favor and STFU. First off, she's said CONSTANTLY that she's a different person plus lots of time has passed, how the hell can you honestly expect everything yall saw back in '98 (that is if you were old enough to even appreciate her talent back then)? Unlike other performances, her voice was great here!! And her performance was live as hell! And yall have the airheaded audacity to conclude her sense of style her is proof that "she's still not alright"? Please go back to your corny ass Nicki Minages and Alicia Off-Keys and Rihannas and put a sock in it. Bunch of bubble-gum pop-star worshipers. Honestly, just bc someone switches up their style, esp for PERFORMANCE, it doesn't equate to "losing it". George Clinton, Earth Wind & Fire, and plenty of artists back in the day looked a hot mess on stage but the music was bomb as f*ck. i swear Walé(?) was right "Hip-Hop aint dead, it's just the fans."

I couldn't have said that better myself...Lauryn is the TRUTH! her unplugged album will be relevant forever unlike some other artists whose music goes with the times and is useless 6 months after release! Ms. Patti LaBelle is one of the best singers out there but if u look back on her stage outfits she looked effin CRAZY lol but that never took away from the fact that she could SIIIIINNNGGGG! When you have pipes like Lauryn and Patti what you wear is completely irrelevant. When you have marginal talent like CiCi, Ashanti, Rihanna ect.... you better come in the hottest outfits or nobody will pay you any attention.

That's the problem, people get so evolved in what a person 'should' look like instead of the real talent. Lauren is one of the few who refused to get caught up in the bullshit the industry tried to do to her. But I'm sure if any of you had a inkling of a chance in the industry, you wouldn't care if they asked you to perform butt naked for the world to see, never mind that you could sing. Glad to see Lauryn's back - what people don't realize that the reason she stayed out of the industry is the same reason that she dresses the way that she does now - not too much attention but the right attention. Sadly, it appears as though she is still having serious "issues" with her appearance and her music. Her band and back up singers are stressed out attempting to keep up with her madness and exaggerated musical efforts. Lauryn COULD have the world eating out of her palm once again....with minimal effort. We can see and hear she is still quite capable. Most unfortunate she has lost her ease and comfort on the stage.

Good to see Lauryn out and about, her voice is criminal!!! Would so love to hear some new material from her though. Really missing some of those fabulously inspiring and unique artists from the 90's like Lauryn and D'Angelo whose creativity has suffered due to personal issues. Wish them both the best and hopefully in the not too distant future a return to doing what they do best, creating beautiful music that there genuine life long listeners love them for.
