"The Game" & BET Score Record Ratings With 7.7 Million Viewers

Looks like it was a great business decision to bring "The Game" out of retirement. Its debut episode drew 7.7 million viewers to BET last night. Get the deets inside...

Last night over 7.7 million viewers tuned into BET to watch the premiere of scripted series "The Game." This was network's biggest audience for a scripted series debut.

And following "The Game," BET held on to 4.4 million viewers for the debut of their scripted show, "Let's Stay Together." The series looks at the relationship challenges of five young, aspirational African-Americans and was produced by Queen Latifah's Flavor Unit Entertainment.

Congrats to BET. Looks like they will be making a few dollars in ad revenue on Tuesday nights.

For the past two years I've

For the past two years I've been posting everywhere for The Game to be picked up and was over the moon when it finally happened. However, the writers (who I had decided were the best unsung writers on television prior to this Tuesday) lost the plot a bit here. I hope that some of you guys are right and they will pull it all back together. Bring back the comedy Lose that BritBat (5 seconds was enough to turn me cold) Loose up Kelly Warm Up the Sets (too cold and "big") Bring the cast together (are they all strangers now?) Lose Terrence and someone drag Rick Fox off the dance floor or whereever he is! Did I mention bring back the Comedy I will keep watching Season Four but must say right now I am looking more forward to Season Five when they get it right again!

I thought the show was really

I thought the show was really good. first off, Tasha Mack talk so much mess to cover up all those self esteem issues she has if you remember from pass seasons. So i'm really not shocked at her being afraid of Kelly. (tho tone it down a lil BET cause aint no black woman that afraid of a white woman). I hadn't really thought about TJ not playing the part. But I guess there are several stronger actors that could have played the part. Secondly, get rid of Brit Brat. I thought that was one of Kelly's really short friends when they first walked up. Malik and Tasha put them back together. Culturally we don't stop speaking to our kids. We tell em what the hell we tell em and move on. That storyline is too unbelievable. (keep the fam together). Malik was always ruthless but we loved him. We don't wanna hate the characters. Shock us but don't make us wanna hate them. Jason perfect. Did want to see more romance with Stacy Dash jus to make Kelly more jealous). Glad to see TT being a businessman. He has ruthless tendacies because he know too much about Malik. Derwin still fine as ever played his part well. But, whats with the conversation between he and Janay that we could not here. Yall left us wondering. I guess I CAN see her not denying it because she knew the truth. So why argue? I love Melanie but she too weak. She jumps the gun in every situation. But please let them work through this. Do's: pleez bring back Rick, Stacy & keep that set. Dont's: Keep Brit Brat, make Kelly so hard core. I actually loved the show and will continue to support US whenever I can on whatever network We are on. Cause if We don't support Us, No one Else Will!

I thought this new season

I thought this new season started it pretty good. For those of you who are wondering about why stacy dash did not come back is because she is busy with her new tv series that will come out soon called Single Ladies. Am I the only one who did not like the old "brit brat"? I thought she was too whiny and annoying, however this new one is no better either. As far as storylines go I was happy with Mel n Derwins until we find out the baby real was his all along I was so bummed they confirmed that route. The Tasha cougar storyline I don't care for I can't wait for rick fox to return. ( I read somewhere that he is!) I don't like that Malik has gotten so ruthless and meaner. I like Kelly n Jason together but since the actor that plays Jason cannot commit to the game full time since he's doing another show they obviously won't be able to put them together right now. It will be fun to see kelly date different guys but know that she still loves jason and would drop any of them if he recommited to her. I have a feeling at the end of this new season they will leave us believeing they are getting back together.

I have been a fan since season 1, when Derwin and Brit-Brat were played by other characters.... so was really exicted for the new season.... the pregnancy scene "is it yours? no, yes..." I was not expecting, but it plays down Melanie's med school education somewhat... because why would she not do the test herself and or verify the results to be accuarate, so that was disappointing not a lot of thought was played into the scenario... Tasha and Malik not speaking I read it's because she blew up Derwin's career but why not have that mentioned in the show.... Kelly does appear to be a lil "gothic" ...Rick Fox was cool, but TJ is okay with Tasha for the "cougar" role.. to chummy with Janay... BUT CAN'T WAIT FOR NEXT TUESDAY

The show now seems like individual stories for each character, like its not one big story anymore, the characters hardly interact, everybody's got their own their own thing going on. No more sunbeam meetings:( I liked them, very funny, and they really brought the whole concept of the show together-like in the episode-"the rules of the game", "gifted" etc. The whole thing seems disconnected to me.I see they've written Melanie as a weakling yet once again, postponing her residency to "support" her man. For heavens sake he's not running for president, how much support does your football playing husband need?! It just makes her look desperate. Kelly-overkill with everything, though it is nice that she is standing up to Jason. She still needs to tone it down though. Terrence J is ok but not for Tasha-bring back Rick! And I am glad that they've put Megan Good in but i do not like her in this role, one of Malik's hos? Thats not ok. But i'm glad the shows back though!! I hope it gets better!

I loved the Game. But there are a few things that I hope will come back like Brit Brat should be a lil more child like not teenage like. I hope they bring Rick Fox back. I hope they bring TT back funny, keep him mature but funny. I hope Kelly tone it down just a lil bit. But otherwise I have confident that the show will mature but be drama like to keeps us happy but still show us (Black African Americans) in a positive light. Represent Game actors & actresses.

I loved the premier, im just kinda worried that they revealed too much too soon. Here are somethings that I think need to go or need work: Brit Brat looks like she is old enough to drink. Only two years have past I think that they need to bring the same girl back or another one that looks close to the age needed. She was only in one scene and im already over her. Tasha and Malik not speaking while in the same room, thats odd and not even them. Idk where BET is going with that but im going to need them to fix it . Megan Good, hmmmmm where should I start ???? They got a hoe to play a hoe then end. Maybe now that she is working we will she her with different clothes on when her pic gets taken. idk shrugs next !!!! Kelly is getting on my nerves cause I feel like they have her trying to hard. And I feel like she is more gothic now. Idk, she is trying to hard to prove that she got Jason's money. Tasha I love Tasha but I feel like they down playing her now. Like she ain't say she was going to get her gun, she ain't say she was going to kill anyone. And then on top of all that she scared of Kelly ass. Where did that come from ? Kelly sucked punched her 1st of all, but im pretty sure the old Tasha would've put up a fight. Terrence J he's cute and all but I def think that they could've gotten another actor to fill in as the sexy boy toy of the moment. And as for Rick Fox when I went to the premier they said Rick Fox was on Dancing with the Stars thats why he wasn't on there. But that show is over so im hoping they write him back into the story. You can't go from Rick Fox to Mr 106 and Park . Im sorry you can't .

She was only scheduled 6 episodes while everyone else was scheduled 12 basically she is a special guest it said that she only got 6 shows because they did not know if colby bell was coming back she was really hurt by that so thats why she never shows up. But she said she came back to the show as a show of support because she loves everyone.

Well okay----7.7million viewers! I am so happy for BET and The Game (CW take note of how successful a show can be when you put it on the right night and promote it properly), There were many things I did like about the show, but also many things I didn't like. But since it was only the first episode I am remaining optimistic about the direction of the show. First the things I did like: 1) The sets look way bette and more realistic for star athletes than the CW sets---Derwin and Jason were staying in cramped apartments and Malik was living in a warehouse! Good job on this one. 2) I am glad they grew back Melanie's hair it fits her character better. Though it seems like Janae upgraded her look as well as if Derwin were still her man----I guess that child support money is nice. I wish they would have kept the short hair on Tasha, it made her look younger. 3) I definitely love Meagan Good on the show, she is a good actress and I can't wait to see the drama that takes off between her and Malik-this was the best new cast for the show. 4) I am glad Ti-Ti is acting like a man now....about time! 5) Though I love the comedy, I prefer that they are going in more of a dramatic direction (or BET can just bring back Soul Food for that) either way I am happy. The things I didn't like: 1) Terrence J seems to be a nice guy and a promising actor but that role is not for him, it would have been more believable with someone like Lance Gross or Columbus Short (who might be too short) but Terrence J is like in the same category as Chris Brown, Omarion, Bow Wow -young boy cute. Sorry but they should cast him as a friend of Ti-Ti or Malik's new assistant I am not feeling him as Tasha's man. Please bring back Rick Fox or another actor who is more believalbe in this role---I had to turn my head during their kissing scenes (Donte and Tasha) there was no chemistry and it felt so wierd and wrong. 2) The new Brit Brat has got to go, though she only had one scene her presence really rubbed me the wrong way in just that scene. 3) I don't like the direction of Kelly and Jason's characters they both seem to be acting out, I was really hoping Stacey Dash would return as his love interest they really had a lot of chemistry at the end of last season. 4) They have really hardened all of their characters and I am not sure how I feel about it yet, I still want the characters to be somewhat likeable. I guess I will have to tune into see where this is going....but I really hope they think of recasting or getting rid of the Donte and Brit Brat characters.

Med School aka Girl Melanie aka Mels- get the girl who did the DNA test to meet with you and Derwin in a park or something public, explain the situation to him with the test being wrong, but say it like you're happy for him. Don't listen to no-man-keeping-Tasha or no-man-having-Kelly. End up with no man! Ya just grew ya hair back, hell..and who didn't toss a throw pillow at the TV in an attempt to stop her from cutting it the last time?!?! Ok! Tee-Tee- Y'all know where he went when he left Malik's....Parker's hubby, the team owner. Two words, 4 syllables... Whistle Blower. Ha!! Loves me some Tee-Tee! I love this show. Expecting plenty drama on Tuesday nights. I feel like I know these characters. It's more than a show to me. Lol One more thing, BET, can we tone down the sex scenes? I mean really, that was too much. And can we lighten the characters back up (figuratively for all but one....literally when it comes to Brit-Brat..who in the hell is in charge of casting..anyhow, like I said.. Michael-Thelma-Michael-Thelma-Michael-Thelma)? But does everyone have to be so 'not-likeable'? I was expecting time to pass and things to change, but dayum, do they all have to be angry black women/men? Hell, even Kells is angry. What happened to the fun of it all? Did y'all hire one to many whie writers? Just saying! Don't change what made the show hot. We'll do you like Amateur Night at the Apollo. Boo yo arses in a minute. So what if we screamed for you last week..I'm just saying..again. Ha! Ok Mara, get ya writers in check nah. Don't fix something that wasn't broken. Keep it right where it left off. That's what we were hooked on. You know how black folks do..the only somebody who can write complete bull crap that doesn't flow worth a damn and still get our support is Tyler Perry. Not that you wrote anything that was crappy, but don't think we didn't catch that 'one minute Derwin talking to Janae, the next day he asking Girl Melanie what he'd should've asked Janae' spiel. Lost me on that one and I watched it twice. We expect better from you, Mrs. Mara. (Y'all know y'all agree). Anyway... Ok..four more things...BET let's do the obvious and ditch Let's Stay Together and make The Game the 1-hr comedy/drama it was destined to be. That Candace girl from Lincoln Heights is just as irritating as when she was chasing Charles. Ugh... Anyway...I can't wait 'til Tuesday. Perfect night, by the way. Bye

Only thing is the shows have already been taped and our comments won't be able to be applied until next season, which by then many may have lost interest in the show. Terrence has to go. Couldn't stand watching him and Tasha ugggh turned my head too and where does Tasha come in smoking that cigarette what an OFF moment. Malik's character is an over. They're overdoing it man. C'mon a little too much. Kelly is way too over the top. Derwin and Melanie in more drama again. Give 'em some time to be happy or for us to see them happy. Sheez. TeeTee is growing a backbone, that's good. Jason still funny I like that. PLEASE PLEASE TONE DOWN ON THE SEX before your turn the show into something trashy. Janae is trying to hard to look happy it's annoying. BritBrat is a typical teenager have to see more of her to decide. As for off screen Kelly why isn't she in any of the promo pics I've seen. Will she and the others beside Jason ever interact onscreen rather than on the phone. BET don't lose what we loved about the show.

LOVEDDDD it! Kelly was givin' me Shaunie O'Neal vibes, and I guess Tasha was Vivica A. Fox! LOL Minor flaws: 1. Terrence must go! Where Rick at?? 2. That oversized child they got playin Brit brat must FOLLOW Terrence and go! Only 2 yrs passed, not 20! 3. Meagan Good on there playing her REGULAR oversexed self is not needed. She goes in the category of Terrence and his unnecessary love scenes with Tasha! 4. Can the rift between Malik & Tasha be explained please?? Why is he acting like more of an a$$, and is it because of this apparent rift? 5. I feel like some of the characters just DRASTICALLY changed--ie Kelly, TT, Malik *& why is Tasha scared??* 6. Need more comedy. I was hoping TT would add that until I saw he is playing a more serious role this season. But I loved the production, the new sets are glamorous. Everything flowed and was professional. I felt like for a first episode, it was a lot to swallow and the drama should've been divided up, but as long as they are able to keep up the momentum it should be fine. Overall I am just glad this show is back and believe I will be glued to the TV for allllll the juice!! Also I gotta give a S/O to BET cuz I was honestly expecting bleeping and heavy censorship--but when they opened up with Meagan "loose" Good....I said "Big ups BET!!" Put the kids 2 bed! lolol

I liked the new set, they couldn't bring the other set over from the other station. They had to crteate their own. I was hoping they would have kept Derwin and Melanie's characters on point so would could have at least had one normal couple on the show with just a little drama of course. Janay looks like someone altogether different. Britt-Bratt looks a hot mess. She is too old. Tasha Mack scared of Kelly, yeah right! Where is Stacey Dash as Jason's girl. Maleek is going to be Maleek what do you expect? So, I was hoping the baby ended up being Hill Harpers and am still hoping the dumb blond made yet another mistake and gave the right information the first time. It's going to take them a minute to flow, so let's be patient! I must admit, it has a better viewing quality, looks more like a movie than a sitcom.

Why does everyone keep saying Tasha being scared is out of character. Did the last season fly over you guys heads. Tasha was scared of Kelly in season 3, she avoided her every time Camille was about to bring up Tasha helping her and Jason hook up. And don't forget that Kelly punch the shit out of her.

I think it would have been a bit difficult to pick up where they left off b/c they couldn't take nor replicate the old sets, and they are now shooting in Atlanta. Just from a logical standpoint, how could they use the new sets without a gap of time to explain it away? It would've been a bit weird to p/u exactly where it left off and act like everybody moved the day after the wedding. We'd be talking about that if so. Just my take on it. Two yrs wasn't that bad and any other time gap would have been weird too. Also, the two yrs can explain how everyone hardened. I think it'll play itself out over the next few episodes and all of the unanswered questions will be answered. Except for Brit-Brat...I'm still confused on why they thought we wouldn't rag them on that grown Jamaican looking woman playing the role of a biracial little girl. Anyway...
