Eminem Pens An Open Letter To Detroit, Goes DIAMOND With Record Sales

Eminem can add another notch to his belt as his album, The Eminem Show, was declared diamond. Get the deets inside plus see the open letter he penned for Detroit.

Eminem has reason to celebrate with the diamond certification of his Grammy Award winning album The Eminem Show by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA). The album has moved over 10 million records.

Also, Eminem recently penned an open letter to the city of Detroit which has been torn apart by crime, poverty and unemployment for years.

His letter begins,

"You took our country from its infancy into industry. And your name still carries with it, the idea of a nation. Built on steel, muscle and sweat. you became a city that carried a country," Eminem said. "Who know that nothing is accomplished without hard work, without sacrifice. When you hurt, we hurt..."

Inspiring video and a nice follow-up to his SuperBowl commercial - Em has always been a vocal ambassador for Detroit - he is fiercely loyal to his city which has been through the ringer for years - it's a damn shame that most people outside of Detroit can't think of a single redeeming quality when they think of that poor city.

The best rapper in the game!!! I'm glad even his fellow rappers know this!!! No one is as lyrically gifted as he is!!! He's an intelligent rapper!!! Most of his songs always have a message in them!!! And to the above saying his music is mainstream, you must have him mistaken for another rapper!!! Eminem is the best!!! The Eminem Show was the first rap album I ever bought!!! I love it!!!
