I'm not hating on Nia in the least, but let's be realistic...if she was just your average single 40-year-old around the way woman (i.e., an aunt, friend, sister, or cousin), this situation would be a mess. But if that was part of her plan, more power to her! Marriage and/or a steady relationship can't happen for everybody... That's not to say that she's not in a steady relationship or that she even wants to be married. Who knows, I may be in that same situation one day (not at 40 though)...we all know the marriage statistics for successful black women making $75k+ per year.

I just want to point out that since the decline of marriage there has a been an increase in problems with children and the community. That's not a race issue. So everyone can sit here and say marriage isn't necessary all they want but the facts speak for themselves. I'm 3.5 months pregnant now with my husband. I refuse to be a baby mama. JMO Anyway, congrats to Nia. I hope she has a healthy and happy pregnancy and baby.
