Nia Long COVERS 2012 August Issue Of ESSENCE With Her ADORABLE SONS!

Gorgeous mom Nia Long graces the cover of the August 2012 issue of ESSENCE where she is photographed (on a double cover) with her adorable sons. Get the deets on the issue inside....

We told you earlier that Nia Long had posed for an upcoming ESSENCE Mag cover with her sons Kez and Massai, Jr. (despite the fact Essence tried to say it wasn't true), and now it's out.

In the August issue, the veteran 41-year-old actress talks about embracing life with her sons, her partner and reconnecting with her father. She adds that she's never felt more fulfilled.

“I’m in my forties, post baby and I’m thinner than I’ve been in years. The last step will be letting my hair go natural. That’s when you’ll know I’m free…”

I believe many posters are

I believe many posters are making one serious error when discussing the topic of single parenthood. Money is the biggest factor. A poor black baby mother is very different from one with means. Having a dad around is important but you can raise a child successfully without a mom or dad if you have the money and resources. It takes more effort but it can be done. Nia's children will have better chances than a middle class family with both parents because she can afford better schools, quality food, and more cultured experiences. You have to be careful with lumping all single parents in a box. This is not to take anything away from a two parent household. It is just to say that if there are two broke parents than there is still a chance that the kids will end up failures. This is more of a case of the haves and have nots. Most children end up in a single parent household because the divorce rate is 60%. Ones with money fare better. Just one more point. White women have abortions at a much higher rate but because many of them have private healthcare the real numbers aren't revealed. I don't think it is wrong that black woman tend to choose to for at it alone. Yes it is hard but multiple abortions is not commendable either.

Just because the father of of youngest is not photographed with the family it doesn't mean they aren't together and that she is not happy. I have been married for 9 years and have a beautiful and healthy 18 month old son. We have professional pictures together that does not include my husband. We may be shopping on a weekend while my husband is working at the shop we own and I decide to go in and do a photo opt. Sometimes he is with us and not be lined up so he choose not to take a photo at that particular moment. We have photos together as well. Nia Long your family is beautiful and so are you!
