"THINK" AGAIN: Hollywood & Screen Gems Order "Think Like A Man" Sequel!

Because of its super success, a sequel to the hit comedy Think Like A Man is now in its beginning stages. Deets inside.....

Now that Hollywood has felt the success and crossover appeal of the hit Kevin Hart, Gabrielle Union comedy Think Like A Man, a second helping of the advice-driven movie has been ordered.

Deadline reports that Keith Merryman and David A. Newman have been hired to write the sequel to their box office hit Think Like A Man ($91Million). Steve Harvey, author of the oroginal book, will return as executive producer along with Rushion McDonald and Rob Hardy. The film will appear under the banner of Will Packer's Rainforest Films.

BONUS:

In other movie news, LIFETIME is set to produce the Original Movie, Abducted: The Carlina White Story, starring Aunjanue Ellis, Keke Palmer, and "The View" co-host Sherri Shepherd.   In the film, Keke will play Carlina White, a woman abducted as an infant from a New York hospital and later reunited with her birth parents 23 years later.

Based on a true story, Carlina was the first known infant abducted from a New York hospital and she worked with the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children to uncover the truth.

Sherri will play Keke's birth mother in the flick, which will be directed by Emmy-award nominated actor/director Vondie Curtis Hall.

Will you be watching?

"Think Like A Man" turned out to be a success. I agree with the other post that its best to leave well enough alone. ALL movies dont need a sequel.

I really liked this movie. I can only hope they do as good or a better job on the part 2. This movie presented Black people in such a positive light. We are educated, upwardly mobile, technology advanced and attractive. It about time movies present us we are. Hollywood needs to catch up with todays Black people and stop using the sterotypical images drug thugs and strippers.

I will go see a black movie

I will go see a black movie just because there is a black cast...I will continue to vote for a black president just because he is black...THEY DO IT! They check out movies just because they see their likeness and their image whether the movie is good or not! they are not all complex with it...they go see it and then they critique it! We more so than not will pass up a movie when there are black people in it and still talk sh**!! Instead of going to see the movie and then comment on it!

With movies like this, there

With movies like this, there is no need for a sequel. I loved the movie even though I was dragged to see it, because I thought it was just "another black movie," but although it was very cliche I did like the move. For some reason when we do sequels they always turn out bad. I hope this is like Why Did I Get Married Too? That movie was soooooo fuckin horrible. I fell asleep in it at the midnight viewing. SMH. SN: I will go buy the movie ticket and se another movie just cause I like doing shit like that! LMAO

exactly why almost all other

exactly why almost all other ethnicities our business owners and we remain consumers! we cut our own down...cant have ish without a negative comment, hair done, negative comment, dress nice, "oh girl, look at her she think she all that" i sometimes wonder how it would be to be another ethnicity and be able to say i'm proud of something with my ppl sometimes....
tanyamichelle's picture

I do agree as I am a BLACK

I do agree as I am a BLACK BUSINESS OWNER myself. Everyone has a right to not patronize a business. I love to see and support BOB's, but if the quality is not right, I wouldn't dare waste my hard earned money to support them just because they black. #thatsdumb
Skee_Wee's picture

I know I may catch some flack

I know I may catch some flack for saying this but I generally don’t support black owned businesses because they don’t operate like a business. They open when they feel like it, close at a drop of hat sometimes, sometimes don’t honor your appointments or don’t have items ready when they said they would. Then want to tell you well my sister “you know how it is sometimes”. There are some exceptions to this rule and when I find those exceptions I am all too happy to continue being their customer. Unfortunately the latter is more frequent.
Furious your padded room is ready!'s picture

it was more of a general

it was more of a general statement i do not support spending money at any unprofessional, shifty businesses regardless of ethnicity...i was speaking as a whole that we don't do what we can to make it
tanyamichelle's picture

its a shame that there has

its a shame that there has always got to be negative talk about everything...ok, you saw it it was only ok yea yea but that's not the point, the point is regardless....black ppl have always been viewed as not good enuff for mainstream hollywood movies and now were here ppl!!! lets support our projects regardless of your view of them...let's stop the crab in a barrell mentality and try and think and write only the positives we see when addressing good news such as this!!! dam when will our ppl learn how to climb instead of taking 10 steps back....
tanyamichelle's picture

Did you really just say

Did you really just say "let's support our projects regardless of your view of them"? I take it that you're really young and that you also supported Soulplane as well. SMH
Puzzled's picture

well if you didn't understand

well if you didn't understand where im coming from then your moniker suits you...PUZZLED. Not young but young looking and loved Soul Plane....my people made money off it regardless...i take it your just narrow minded and don't think of things in a big picture way...only your narrow minded selfish it's all about me way which only pushes my point..your a crab trying to keep us down!
tanyamichelle's picture

What the f--k? Your people

What the f--k? Your people also make money off of selling drugs f--k--g up their own people. Do you support that as well.
Puzzled's picture

You just showed your

You just showed your ignorance because movies are legal and creates jobs. Drugs are illegal and kill ppl...I'm going to let you think on that a minute! and you might be able to come up with the answer yourself -funny your too ez
tanyamichelle's picture

You showed your ignorance the

You showed your ignorance the moment you started typing. I used to be one of those people supporting everything black just because they were black, but I grew up and I learned that that's not the way to go. I will not go to a salon with shitty services just to support blackness I will not go to a black restaurant with rude ass cashiers and waiters just to support blackness. Not saying that this particular movie was ignorant but I will not support ignorant and predictable ass movies just to support blackness. You have to have standards. Black people know that a lot of black people would except anything and as long as you support the bullshit, they will continue giving you bullshit services. If there was a white business next to the same came kind of black business and the black business has good service, then I would go for blackness.

although i wasnt interested

although i wasnt interested in the movie i want to say congrats to steve harvey...got his own talk show in september and a sequel in the works....i like how he is making jobs for people...

First off I don't know why

First off I don't know why she posted just Kevin Hart and Gabrielle Union as if they were the stand out stars of the movie, and truth be told Gabrielle is not a superb actress and Kevin is not that funny, i'm just saying. Anyway, the movie was ok, it didn't leave me feeling like, OH MY GAWWWD I HAVE TO SEE THAT AGAIN, it was just ok. If a sequel came out, I don't know if I would go see it, but due to my thirst for black entertainment because it has diminished severely, who knows, but i'm not geeked about it. They're always saying support black support black, but they keep giving us the same bullshit and we keep excepting it. It was successful based off of hype. I'm so tired of these movies with the same concept of how to get a man, how to keep a man, how to survive without a man, or how to pick up the pieces after a man has left you stranded. Tyler is one of those that always making those kinds of movies, but then go play in an action packed white man movie, like why in f--k couldn't you come up with shit like that. Stop it already.

I'm excited about this! I

I'm excited about this! I just hope the sequel is as entertaining as the first movie...and highlights more of the positive relationship advice that the first movie did (from Steve Harvey's book). I also like the cast % plot of the Lifetime movie with Keke Palmer & Sherrie Shepherd. That's quite a story to tell.
Godiva-Diva...Re-elect Obama!!!'s picture

While I really LOVED the

While I really LOVED the movie. I'm kind of hesitant about supporting the sequel. I don't want a Think Like a Man 2 where it's referencing a Steve Harvey book. The characters are passed that. I prefer that it be more like a follow up on the relationships that were established in the first movie. See what new challenges they face in their relationships. Keep all the things that made it a success. It was funny, no caricatures, mature dialogue & characters & its universal appeal to everyone! And for goodness sake please don't name it Think Like a Man 2.

Ummmmm please don't do a part

Ummmmm please don't do a part two to Think Like a Man. It is obvious that they are thinking like idiots. I did not like part one. There was not enough white/lightskin black characters. You guys have GOT to know that I am partial to white/lightskin individuals. I for one will not pay my money to see this CRAP. As you all know, I am an industry INSIDER. So I will let you in on a little secret. The money being used to make this film has come from the KKK. F.Y.I. Keke Palmer is a progressive young lady.
Furious_NO LIFE's picture

KKK? Girl, seat. Have a

KKK? Girl, seat. Have a million of them. WTF does having "light skinned" people have to do with making a successful film? You are bat shit insane lady. In an age where there are so few black producers and power players putting our stories out there in the right way and you bitchin because it was full of dark skinned people (because there should be a proper black/white/light skin ratio apparently) and then some birdie told you the KKK made it, since of course they have a film division in the Klan that collaborated with Steve Harvey and all his people. Put the pipe down and stop posting your mess before some other fool believes it and infects the rest of us.

Lets not get carried away. It

Lets not get carried away. It was a good movie, but now that you know that black people show up to movies that are GOOD how about writing a whole other movie that's GOOD too with an all black cast. Black people also like drama's and some of us even like horror and suspense as well...and im not talking about the same ole "Im sooo poor, my baby daddy left me with these three kids and how is I ever gone get out this here hood." Some if us actually deal with things outside of that, that would make for great scripts...SHOCKING
