Chloe x Halle, H.E.R., Travis Scott & Jazmine Sullivan Pay Tribute To Aretha Franklin At Clive Davis' Pre-Grammy Gala + The Wilsons Rolled On The Scene With The Heavy Drip

Several entertainers hit the stage at Clive Davis' annual pre-Grammy gala last night to pay tribute to the late Aretha Franklin. See the performances, get into the Wilsons' drip, and find out who else hit the carpet inside...

It's GRAMMY season!

Music exec Clive Davis (above, pictured alongside the iconic Dionne Warwick) threw his annual pre-Grammy gala at The Beverly Hilton Hotel in Beverly Hills last night, bringing out today's biggest and brightest stars in the music industry.

The soiree goes down every year the night before the big awards show. This year's bash featured a special tribute to the late Aretha Franklin, the trailblazing artist Clive worked closely with over decades throughout her singing career. The Queen of Soul passed away in her home in Detroit this past Augst. She was 76-years-old.

Soulful songstress Jazmine Sullivan wowed the audience with renditions of the Queen's "Call Me" and the George Michael duet, "I Knew You Were Waiting (For Me)," where she was joined by Rob Thomas.

Fresh from their Super Bowl performance, Chloe x Halle flawlessly flowed through Aretha and Eurythimics' women empowerment track, "Sisters Are Doin' It For Themselves." And they nailed it, of course.



They looked amazing in their in their all-white Paule Ka outfits.

H.E.R. - who's nominted for FIVE Grammys this year - brought her sultry vocals to perform her track "Make It Rain." She wore a custom MCM x Misa Hylton outfit for her performance.

Rapper Travis Scott - who's in the running for three Grammys this year - brought ASTROWORLD to the pre-Grammy gala.

12-time Grammy nominated singer-songwriter Ledisi also hit the stage for a performance.

27-time Grammy Award winner and music legend Quincy Jones made his way on stage to speak. Q copped one nomination this year in the Best Music Film category for his Netflix documentary, Quincy.

Industry veteran and urban music pioneer Clarence Avant was honored and recognized as the 2019 Grammy Salute to Industry Icons honoree for his groundbreaking contributions to the music industry. Past receipts include, Jay Z, L.A. Reid, and Berry Gordy. He was presented the award by by Neil Portnow, president of The Recording Academy.


House Speaker Nancy Pelosi was also in the mix. When Clive Davis pointed out she was in the crowd, she recevied a standing ovation from everyone in attendance:


You'll recall, Nancy's saracstic clap and facial expressions during Trump's State of the Union address went viral as hundreds of memes flooded our timelines.
