Ruth dreamed up what the world of Wakanda looked like, and she made it come to life through fabric and costume.  Her dream, teamed with bomb director Ryan Coogler's and fellow Oscar winner Hannah Beachler's production design, gave us Wakanda.

"Marvel may have made the first black superhero, but through costume design we turned him into an African king," she said during her acceptance speech. Let folks know!

Ruth, who intricately sourced from over 1500 costumers for the Wakandan designs, also makes history as the first black winner of the Best Costume Design category!

By the way, Robert Townsend read off a few more of her credits to help her celebrate:

Congrats Ruth!
