Common hosted his annual pre-Oscars dinner in West Hollywood and his ex-girlfriend Angela Rye came out to celebrate with the nominees. Flicks of all the Black Excellence inside...

Oscar winner Common hits the Hollywood scene every year to celebrate the Academy Awards nominees who may take home that golden trophy. The rapper/actor's 5th Annual "Toast to the Arts" dinner party took place at West Hollywood's Ysabel, which featured an intimate dinner under the stars FOR the stars.

CNN's Angela Rye was on the scene, along with #METOO founder Tarana Burke, to show love to her ex-boyfriend Common. The couple called it quits last year after they kicked off a relationship in the summer of 2017.

There's no bad blood between these two as they both have spoke highly of one another following their split.

“We have and will always be friends,” Angela Rye told Page Six TV last year following their breakup. “He is an amazing human being, and I’m a much better person because he’s a part of my life. May we all keep loving and living.”

The feeling is mutual for the Hunter Killer star:

"First of all, I learned that she’s just an amazing, incredible woman,” Common told ESSENCE last year. “It’s also a process, and a journey to get to understanding how to be full in a relationship, and be a full and complete person as much as possible,” he continued, adding that it was “fun to have a partner who you can really enjoy and can be real friends [with].”
