Nipsey Hussle Was Set To Meet With Heads Of Police Today About Squashing Street Violence. LAPD Is Still Making It Happen.

"Rapper" was only a sliver of what made up Nipsey Hussle's profile. He made it a priority to give back to his community, invest & promote the black dollar, and take ownership of your block in every way.  And that included collaborating with LAPD to clean up the streets.

The latest on the meeting that was supposed to take place today, inside.

The rap world and the masses lost a rare one yesterday when Nipsey Hussle was gunned down in front of his own store - The Marathon - on the streets he repped so hard - Slauson and Crenshaw.

The suspect is still on the loose (we are not giving clout to that random Instagram rant by a random clout chaser claiming to have pulled the trigger).  Meanwhile, LAPD says they're going to uphold their end of the bargain in figuring out a way to bring peace to the streets.

L.A. Police Chief Soboroff and Commissioner Moore say the meeting, originally scheduled for today with the now late Nipsey Hussle and Roc Nation, will still go on.

TMZ says they spoke with LAPD's top officials, and though they're saddened the meeting didn't take place earlier, it will go on with Roc's Jay Brown:

Our sources say, despite Nipsey's tragic murder ... the meeting will happen, as scheduled ... at Jay's request. We're told he wanted to press forward to honor Nipsey's wishes. Someone from Roc Nation, possibly Jay, will attend the meeting in Nipsey's place.

We got a hold of Soboroff, and he told us he regretted not holding the meeting earlier. He says, "The sadness that I feel -- I wish we could have had the meeting on Friday. I think he would have been excited about all the possibilities, and I know we were."

Good to hear.

Our hearts are with the family and loved ones of Nipsey & long time girlfriend Lauren London.
