Just one day after his capture, the lead suspect in Nipsey Hussle's shooting death, Eric Holder, has been charged with murder.  Details inside on the other felonies he's facing, Chris Darden, and what's going to happen to the getaway driver.

UPDATE: District Attorney Jackie Lacey, issued the below press release.  Interestingly, Lacey is the first woman and first African-American to serve as Los Angeles County District Attorney since the office was established in 1850.  She was born and raised in the Crenshaw neighborhood, just like Nipsey Hussle.

Eric Holder was arrested yesterday in Bellflower, California, reportedly after attempting to check himself into a mental facility.  Now, he's been formerly charged with the murder of rapper and entrepreneur Nipsey Hussle. Holder is also facing multiple other felonies, and he plead Not Guilty today in court.  If convicted, he is facing life in prison.  NBC News reports:

Eric Holder, 29, of Los Angeles, was arrested Tuesday and held on $7 million bail in connection with the killing on March 31 of the Grammy-nominated rapper.

In addition to murder, Holder was also charged by the Los Angeles District Attorney's Office with two counts of attempted murder and one count of possession of a firearm by a felon.

Nipsey – a well-respected community leader, rapper, and businessman whose real name is Ermias Asghedomwas shot outside of his own store, The Marathon, on Crenshaw & Slauson on Sunday afternoon.  Surveillance video shows a shooter running up to Nipsey and two others with him, reportedly after exchanging words with the men earlier when the suspect first approached the store.  The shooter then shoots Nipsey and the others, and also kicks Nipsey near his head.

According to the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner-Coroner, the autopsy on Nipsey's body was completed Monday.  He died of multiple gunshot wounds to the head and torso.

The two other men are still hospitalized.

Reportedly, Holder is being represented by Chris Darden, the lawyer who prosecuted O.J. Simpson.  Wow.  They're due back in court May 10th.

Holder, who is an ex-con, is now being held on $5 million bail (it was previously reported as $7 million).  It's safe to say he'll be sitting in jail for a long while before he even gets to his trial date.  He was reportedly placed in solitary confinement as soon as he was processed in jail, as it's believed other inmates could possibly take or endanger his life.

Fox LA's Leah Uko reports that the getaway driver, the female who allegedly said she had no idea what Eric Holder was doing at the store, has been allowed to go free.

These latest developments don't necessarily help the all-around sad feeling we all have right now.  Justice indeed still needs to be served.
