Tika landed the role of a young version of "black-ish" character Rainbow Johnson's mom in the upcoming spin-off "Mixed-ish." There has been controversy about her being casted for the role since Rainbow's mom is several shades lighter, but the show will go on.

Michael Ealy is set for return to television and ABC after his new movie The Intruder with Meagan Good. He has been cast in the ABC dram pilot “Stumptown,” starring opposite Mark Webber.

Variety breaks down what the series is about and Michael's role on the show:

The project follows Dex Parios (Cobie Smulders), a strong, assertive, and unapologetically sharp-witted army veteran working as a P.I. in Portland, Oregon. With a complicated personal history and only herself to rely on, she solves other people’s messes with a blind eye toward her own.

Webber will play Grey McConnell, Dex’s best friend who has an unrequited crush on her. He’s been renovating an old-fashioned brew pub into a modern-sleek mixology joint and he’s hired Dex’s brother as his sole employee.

Ealy has been cast as Detective Miles Hoffman, a detective with the Portland Police Department. He’s looking for escaped convict Samuel Kane, who’s probably going to pay a visit to Grey McConnell any day now.

Ealy previously starred in the ABC series “Secrets and Lies.”

Joy Bryant is reuniting with 50 Cent again. She's set to co-star in the untitled ABC legal/family drama pilot from Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson and Hank Steinberg.

While the show doesn't have a title just yet, here's what fans can expect from the show (via Deadline):

The fictional project is a serialized legal and family drama that centers on Aaron (Pinnock), a prisoner who becomes a lawyer, litigating cases for other inmates while fighting to overturn his own life sentence for a crime he didn’t commit. His quest for freedom is driven by his desperate desire to get back to the family he loves and reclaim the life that was stolen from him. The show also will, through the window of his ferocious struggle and his complicated relationship with a progressive female prison warden, Kate (Varma), examine the flaws and challenges in our penal and legal systems.

Bryant will play Marie, Aaron’s ex-wife. She is intelligent, fiercely protective of her 17-year-old daughter Jasmine and carries the heavy burden of still loving the man she’s divorced. Marie is in an impossible situation, believing that Aaron never will get out of prison and yet having to try to move on with life.

Sounds like it's going to be good.
