The Duchess of Sussex - who rocked a white L’Agence jacket paired with Outland denim jeans - made a surprise appearance at the All-England Lawn & Raquet Club on Thursday (July 4th) to support her bestie Serena Williams during her second round match against Kaja Juvan of Slovenia. She was joined by two of her closest friends - Lindsay Roth and Genevieve Hillis  - who reportedly met as classmates at Northwestern University, to fan out for 'Rena.

As you know, Meghan and Serena have been friends for over a decade, so it was no surprise to see the former "Suits" actress in the stands. The tennis superstar and her hubby Alexis Ohanian attended the royal wedding and Serena and a few more of Meghan's friends threw the Duchess a baby shower in NYC earlier this year.

After a tough first set, the 37-year-old tennis star defeated Juvan, advancing to the the third round that's set to go down this weekend.

After the match...

The Sussexes are catching heat for ignoring protocol by saying they're keeping the identity of Archie's godparents a secret.  But we do know who one godparent won't be.

The 23-time Grand Slam champion spoke with the press following her big win where she was asked about whether or not she will be royal baby Archie's godmother at the private Christening ceremony on Saturday. Unfortunately, Serena has to "work" (i.e. slay tennis), so she will not be attending.

"No, I'm working on Saturday," Williams said, smiling. "Yeah, so she understands work."

The presence of Meghan's friends at Wimbledon has folks speculating on whether they'll be among the god parents at baby Archie’s christening on Saturday.

Since she copped the win, Serena will not be there. She'll be playing in the third round of Wimbledon after battling through a three-set win over Kaja Juvan. The tennis superstar said she was thrilled her friend was able to come out and watch her play.

"Yes, I knew she was there. It's always exciting when she comes out to watch and support the tennis. So I was happy," she said.

Baby Sussex will be christened at the same Windsor Chapel where both his father and uncle were baptized - and his parents were married in 2018. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are closing off the royal event to the public in an effort to raise him as a "private citizen" - something they've been vocal about doing with their son.
