Trina fought back tears when she hit the stage for the first time days after her mother passed away. More inside...

Losing your mother has to be one of the most hardest thing to endure in your lifetime. The woman that gave you life is no longer here for to call, hug and kiss any longer.

Unfortunately, Trina had to feel that pain on September 2nd after her mother, Vernessa "Nessa" Taylor, passed away after an ongoing fight against breast cancer. She was 62.

It's clear Trina and her mother had a close bond because she spoke highly about her mother in a social media post back in June:

"My entire world .. my strength, my weakness, my reason for never giving up, my peace, my joy, my EVERYTHING... #TheOne 6/21 #momma," Trina captioned a picture of her mother months before she left this earth.

Her fans and friends have been flooding her IG comments with condolences. A rep for Trina issued a statement regarding her mother's passing, saying,

"Thank you all for your kind words and condolences regarding Trina’s mother. It truly gives the family some peace and comfort knowing that 'Nessa' lived such a fulfilling life filled with love and abundance."

Trina's team requested fans respect her and her family's privacy as they mourn.

With devastating news like this days before the ONE Musicfest in Atlanta, it was unclear if Trina would hit the stage.

However, The Baddest Chick mustered up all of her strength and decided she would hit the stage for the festival to perform for her fans. Well into her performance, the "Get Money" rapper fought back tears as her fans cheered her on, chanting her name.

“I do this for my fans, y’all are my heart,” she told the audience.
