Genea Sky - Texas Dancer Who Went Viral After Scary 15-Foot Fall From Stripper Pole - Gives Post-Surgery Update

Genea Sky became social media famous following a video that went viral that showed her falling 15-feet from a stripper pole. She suffered several injuries that required surgery. Now, she’s giving an update on her condition. More inside…

Over the weekend, a video of an exotic dancer falling from a stripper pole in Dallas, TX went viral. In the clip, Genea Sky is seen falling from a 15-foot pole and after landing face down on the ground, she continued dancing. Check it out below:

Ouch!

People have been making jokes about the hard fall, but she really hurt herself. The fall caused some major injuries, including a broken jaw, a sprained ankle and she chipped some of her teeth.

After the clip went viral, Genea Sky got on social media to update everyone she had to have surgery following the fall.

"I broke my jaw and I have to have surgery on it tomorrow [Monday]," she said in a video. "I broke some teeth and I got a sprained an ankle. I got some stitches, but aside from that I'm good. I have no broken limbs, I walked away myself."

Peep the video below:

She also went on Twitter to respond to people who were making light of her fall:

"Yes, I fell off the pole. Yes, I fractured my jaw. NO, I’m not fucking okay. And there’s absolutely NOTHING funny about this situation. This is the worst pain I’ve ever felt and I wouldn’t wish it upon anyone,” she tweeted.

She also thanked those who were genuinely concerned and offered up support:

Genea - who said she's paying her way through school - also made it clear she wasn’t under the influence:

Genea’s friend started a GoFundMe account for her since her job “does not cover the expenses of her medical bills.”

”Since she sustained such serious injuries, she will be out of work for an extended period of time. Any donations towards her surgeries would be helpful and appreciated!,” the GoFundMe reads.

As of the time of this post, she has raised over $31,000.

After the surgery, Genea offered up an update from her hospital bed. The surgery went well, however, her jaw is currently wired shut.

Today has been a very long day. My surgery went well. My jaw is currently wired shut so please refrain from calling me as of right now and bare with me on replies because my phone hasn’t stopped blowing up. Everyone’s love & kind words have not gone unnoticed whatsoever and it means so much to me that all of you have blessed me and uplifted me in so many ways. I am overwhelmed in the best way by all the support. I was really nervous as this all started blowing up because people are cruel and this is a very sensitive time for me. But I never imagined so many people would stand behind me in a situation like this and that has outweighed all the negativity by far. I am beyond grateful for you all. I am in a tremendous amount of pain but i am ready for this road to recovery so I can get back to my life. I will continue to update everyone over the course of my recovery but thank you once again for EVERYTHING

Genea admitted she was nervous after the video went viral because “people are cruel and this is a very sensitive time for me.” Although there has been some negative comments and posts about her fall, she has been overwhelmed with the amount of love and support she has received.

”I was really nervous as this all started blowing up because people are cruel and this is a very sensitive time for me. With the outpouring of love and support, people have been creating fake IG pages and GoFundMe accounts to try and profit from her pain. She’s calling them all out and asking people to report the fakes they come across:

I’m sure I’ll get a lot of negative comments and I can’t stop all the fake pages, and that’s okay. But I’m still addressing this. I never forced anyone to donate money and help me in my time of need, but I take it very serious that people still went outta their way to do so and I’m NOT okay with people trying to be fraudulent, especially with MY NAME, and take advantage of people’s kindness. You don’t have to donate to mine, but PLEASE DO NOT BE FOOLED BY THESE FAKE PAGES. This is my ONE & ONLY Instagram and my Twitter has the same name. I would appreciate it if you guys could report any fake pages you come across. I’m sorry if anyone has been mislead by any of these other accounts. I wish I could have total control over that. But since I don’t, I would like to at least make you guys aware. Thank you guys once again & stay blessed

Watch out for the scammers y'all!

We're just glad she didn't further injure herself, or worse, and is currently recovering.
