Florida Man Allegedly Shoots & Kills Elementary School Student’s Mother During Virtual Class With Teacher

The first day back to school turned into a nightmare for one elementary school student and her family. The 10-year-old girl's mother was shot and killed by her ex-boyfriend while she was on a Zoom call with her teacher and classmates for the first day of school.

The shocking details inside…

An elementary school student, her three siblings and her two cousins just lived through the worst moment of their lives. Sadly, the young people saw their mother and aunt get gunned down by her ex-boyfriend right before their eyes. One of the children had just logged on to a Zoom class with her teacher and classmates (due to the Coronavirus pandemic) for the first day back to school.

The child's teacher - an elementary school teacher at Warfield Elementary - said she witnessed her 10-year-old student react to her mother getting shot during a Zoom conference call. It was around 8AM when the students logged in for their first virtual class. The first day was already unconventional, but then thing escalated to the unimaginable.

Police believe 27-year-old Donald J. Williams (atop) shot and killed his 32-year-old ex-girlfriend Maribel Rosado-Morales (below). He was taken into custody under suspicion of murdering his ex.

It’s reported six children were in the home when the shooting took place – Rosado-Morales four children (including the girl online) and two of their cousins. After the shooting, Rosado-Morales was taken to the hospital where she died.

Martin County Sheriff William Snyder said Williams gave a full confession and will face a first-degree murder charge, according to CBS 12.

“There was some type of argument. He went in and confronted her with something to do with a video," Martin County Sheriff William Snyder said. “He says she actually started to smile at him and he became enraged and shot her," Snyder said.

The teacher said she could hear commotion in the background when the student logged in. The teacher then heard profanity and realized the commotion could be a domestic violence situation, so the teacher muted the child’s audio. Still watching the child's screen, the teacher said she saw the little girl put her hands up to her ears and that’s when her screen went blank. A bullet struck the child's computer, according to police.

After the shooting, Williams fled the scene on a bicycle and then hopped on a Martin County Public Transit bus. The driver got suspicious and called 911. That’s when he was captured.

The sheriff says DCF will determine who will care for the victim’s four children, who are between 10 and 17-years-old.

Very sad and tragic. Prayers up to the children who witnessed this senseless, cowardly act and their family.
