Comedians/actors Will Smith & Kevin Hart – both from Philly – have finally teamed up on a film for the first time. The dynamic duo will star in and produce a remake of Planes, Trains & Automobiles. Deets inside…

It’s been a long time coming, but it’s finally happening.

Philadelphia natives Will Smith and Kevin Hart are teaming up to star and produce a new project together.

The Hollywood Titan and the Comedy King are set to star in the remake of the 1987 road trip comedy, Planes, Trains & Automobiles via Paramount Pictures. Will’s Westbrook Studios and Kev’s Hartbeat Productions will produce.

”I’ve been patiently waiting for the right project to team up with my brother with. We found it and are developing it together with our teams. This will be huge for us and the city of brotherly love aka Philadelphia..... let’s goooooo,” Kevin wrote on Instagram about the new project with Will.

In July 2018, Will wished Kevin a Happy Birthday on social media. The Men In Black star championed the idea of starring in a movie with Kevin in the birthday post:

Now, it's happening.

Writer/producer Ayesha Carr (“The Carmichael Show,” “Rel,” “Brooklyn Nine-Nine”) will write the script for her feature debut.

Deadline reports:

The original starred Steve Martin and John Candy as a mismatched duo forced to become bunkmates and traveling partners in a desperate attempt to get home to loved ones for Thanksgiving after their flights are canceled. A slew of holiday travel disasters follow, and they mix like water and oil. Hart and Smith produce with Westbrook Studios Co-President and Head of Motion Pictures Jon Mone and Hartbeat’s President of Film and Television Bryan Smiley.

Here’s a clip from the original:

Lord. Y’all already know these two are going to CUT UP on this film! Are you here for it or are you over reboots & remakes?!
