'Wendy Williams Show' Delayed Once Again Due To 'Medical Issues,' Decision To Postpone Made 'Within Last 24 Hours'

The "Wendy Williams Show" has been delayed once again due to Wendy Williams' "medical issues" that are not COVID-19 related. Sources say the decision to postpone Season 13 was made within the last 24 hours. More inside...

Season 13 of the "Wendy Williams Show" has been delayed once again. Its the second time the Season 13 premiere of the daytime talk show has been postponed.

Host Wendy Williams was originally set to return September 20th, but it was pushed back to October 4th. Now, the show will not return until two weeks later on October 18th.

The show made the announcement on Instagram, saying Wendy Williams is "still not ready to return to work" as she remains "under a doctor's care and is still not ready to return to work.”

The show confirmed the 57-year-old daytime talk show host (who is vaccinated and is asymptomatic) recovered from COVID-19, but she's still dealing with additional health struggles.

"Her breakthrough covid case is no longer an issue and she has tested negative, but she is still dealing with some ongoing medical issues," the statement concluded.

On September 14th it was reported Wendy voluntarily admitted herself to an NYC hospital for a psych evaluation. The outlet also reports while she does have the coronavirus, she was vaccinated and is asymptomatic.

The September 20th premiere date was pushed back to October 4th due to Wendy's breakthrough case of COVID-19.

According to sources, the decision to postpone the Season 13 premiere of the daytime talk show was a last-minute call.

Page Six reports:

A source exclusively told Page Six Thursday morning that production believes Williams needs more time to focus on her health, so it’s delaying the show until Oct. 18.

“Healing is not a straight-line process,” our source shared. “It was felt within the last 24 hours that we wanted to give her more time to recover.”

According to the insider, the show pushed the premiere back an additional two weeks because it “didn’t want to start the show and then stop.”

“We wanted to make sure Wendy was 100 percent [ready],” the source added.

We’re also told that Williams will “1,000 percent host” when the show returns later in October, despite the vague nature of the announcement that noted the show would return — not necessarily with Williams.

Although Wendy is battling Graves’ disease and - most recently - a breakthrough case of COVID-19, the insider claims neither of those ailments is what’s keeping her off the air. Wendy will supposedly address her health issues when she returns to host.

A week afte she tested positive for a breakthrough case of Covid-19, paparazzi caught her trying to smoke a vape pen. Once she realized she was being filmed, she sat back to hide from the cameras:

The show delays reminds us of the several season premiere delays that went down in 2019. We hope she receives the help she needs and gets well soon.
