Chloë Bailey Faces Fierce Backlash For Collaborating With Chris Brown + Breezy Responds to Kiely Williams' Criticism

Chloë Bailey has been receiving harsh backlash since announcing her collaboration with Chris Brown on her new track, “How Does It Feel.” Read the reactions and see how Breezy clapped back at 3LW singer Kiely Williams inside..

Chloë Bailey's recent announcement that her next single, "How Does it Feel," will feature Chris Brown has ignited a firestorm of controversy among fans and critics alike. And folks are BOTHERED.

The 24-year-old singer shared the cover art for the song on Twitter, which features a photo of her and Breezy embracing.

”2ND PIECE. HOW DOES IT FEEL @chrisbrown. 2/24,” she tweeted.

The announcement was met with immediate backlash from fans who were critical of Chloë’s decision to collaborate with the controversial R&B artist, who has faced multiple accusations of violence against women over the years.

”Chloe Bailey’s management has no idea who her target audience is and that’s why they make such poor decisions and have her all over the place. The ppl who like her do not like Chris brown,” one fan wrote.

“The Chris Brown backlash Chloe is getting isn’t even just about Rihanna? He literally mocked Kehlani after her 2016 suicide attempt?,” another person tweeted.

”It’s so weird people pretend the only bad thing he ever did was when he abused Rihanna (as if that’s not bad enough??) like the man has a new restraining order every year,” another person wrote.

In 2009, CB pleaded guilty to one count of felony assault for physically assaulting his then-girlfriend Rihanna, and has faced other legal troubles since then, including a five-year restraining order from his ex-girlfriend Karrueche Tran in 2017, which has now expired.

While some fans defended Chloë’s decision and praised CB’s talent, others called out his troubling history and argued that working with him sends the wrong message.

"People are super bitter in the comments do your thing, girl!,” a fan tweeted.

”Chris Brown is the GOAT everyone that’s crying your tears taste amazing. Move on!,” another person tweeted.

“@ChloeBailey was giveon not available? anderson paak? khalid? bruno mars? daniel caesar? or literally anyone else?,” another person tweeted.

There is a notable double standard at play in the backlash against Chloë for collaborating with Breezy. Despite his troubled history and multiple accusations of violence against women, other artists have collaborated with him in the past without facing the same level of criticism.

For example, singer H.E.R. has worked with the “Loyal” singer multiple times in recent years without facing significant backlash.

Makes you wonder why there's so much smoke Chloë, but not anyone else. Thoughts?

As the controversy spread online, Breezy hopped on social media to react.

3LW's Kiely Williams expressed her opinion about Breezy's upcoming collaboration with Chloë on Twitter, labeling it "garbage." In addition, she called out CB for returning to the mainstream and causing listeners to overlook his history of violence against women.

"Let him come out with his own record—so genius, so captivating that it makes us all forget HE BEATS WOMEN," Kiely tweeted. "He can’t so he wont. So what does he do? He slowly creeps back into the mainstream by getting small nods for features on Black Women’s merit. Black women who are more talented, more worthy, but give him the okay. I am swatting the f*cking air rn. Garbage."

Following Kiely's criticism of his upcoming duet, CB decided to respond.

"Obviously you are at a point in your life where you are very broke or broken," he wrote on his IG Story. "THE FACT you think you have to speak negatively about me makes u look so lame… YOUR LIFE AND CAREER MUST SUCK RIGHT NOW.. minding your business would’ve been best.. but I guess you don’t have a business or a real job that makes u financially stable. I feel more embarrassed for you and your actual maturity.."

He then posted a meme of Kiely:

Afterward, the R&B crooner shared a brief video clip of himself explaining that he prefers to be hated by others because they are unable to surpass him.
