After the trailer dropped...

"i’m crying and i’m late," Halle tweeted. "But i can’t believe we got to debut the full little mermaid trailer at the oscar’s here it is"

The Little Mermaid hits theaters on May 26th.

While Halle's Little Mermaid trailer was making waves during the Oscars, rapper Rubi Rose caused a stir with a cryptic tweet that had fans speculating if it was aimed at Halle.

But this isn't just about a tweet, there's a lot of history here. Rubi and Halle share a connection through DDG, whom Rubi previously dated before Halle.

With tensions high, all eyes were on Rubi’s Twitter account as Halle’s trailer dropped. And in a move that had fans scratching their heads, Rubi tweeted "Anyways" right after the trailer premiered.

"Halle is out here booked and busy getting her bag while your rap career is stagnant, please pipe down," a user tweeted in response.

What did it all mean? Was it a subtle jab at Halle? Or was it just a coincidence?

A lot of fans took the tweet as shade and dragged Rubi to the highest of heavens. Peep the reactions below:
