Tidbits

Jim Jones, Dame Dash, and Diddy were all caught clowning around the studio a few days ago:

They were there discussing "business opportunities" and I'm told they can't go into detail just yet. Hmmm....

And Whitney's first comeback single has been confirmed. At the Pop Conference in Seattle this past Friday, famed songwriter Diane Warren revealed that the song she wrote for Whit called "I Didn't Know My Strength" would indeed be Mama Whitney's official comeback single. Diane said she wrote the song specifically for Houston. "I tried to get inside her head," Warren said about the track which Houston performed at Clive Davis' Pre-Grammy Gala on February 7th. "Strength" will be featured on the 45-year-old singer's singer’s seventh solo album, and will be produced by famed hitmaker David Foster. The still-untitled project has been speculated as a 2009 release. More ish when you read the rest...

Afternoon Tidbits

In case you were wondering, Ciara's movie is still on the slate to actually be released. Mama I Want To Sing! was supposed to come out October '08, but didn't. It was moved to the straight-to-DVD sector and people have been wondering if it's ever coming out. The folks over at BV got to the bottom of it. And basically, thanks to all of CiCi's management changes as of late, it'll be coming out in the fall on DVD. Not alongside her CD release as the directors and producers originally planned. The Obamas are officially waxy:

Madame Tussauds Museum here in D.C. unveiled the First Lady Michelle Obama wax statue:

She's alongside her Presidential hubby who was unveiled recently as well.  They even completed her look with her signature pearls and black belt and black flats. More when you read the rest...

Interracial Drama For Disney's First Black Princess+Chris Brown's Bodyguard ATTACKS A Man

There's controversy surrounding Disney's first black american princess.  While The Princess & The Frog's Princess Tiana and the rest of the cast is made up of mainly black characters, folks are pissy that the prince is not.  Prince Naveen of Maldonia and is voiced by a Brazilian actor and people say he looks more white than black in photographs from the film that Disney has released. Disappointed fans wrote: 'I think it's sad that he is white because its saying that black love isn't good enough and that black men could never be princes. ‘Disney had the perfect chance to make its first black prince, but instead it decided to go the controversial route.' "I am very disappointed and I wished Disney had made the prince black,(and the ironic thing is the prince in the movie is white but the evil voodoo villain is voiced by a black actor and is black).’ Anika Noni Rose, the voice of Princess Tiana, says "Not only is she the first black princess, she’s the first American princess. We’ve never had an American princess.  The scope and the significance is larger than people even realize." The movie, set in 1920 New Orleans, comes out later this year.
